Caxias do Sul/RS – Confirming its importance in the Brazilian industrial scenario, the 22nd run of Mercopar ended this Friday, October 4, projecting positive business results. The 603 event exhibitors expect to generate business on the order of R$ 148 million over the next 12 months, through direct sales by attending companies and the round tables hosted by the Domestic and International Buyer Project.
“Mercopar continues to fulfill its role of creating opportunities for companies of all sizes, especially micro and small businesses, by contributing to partnership development. It is a trade fair that renews itself year after year, anticipating and meeting demands of the business community,” emphasizes the Chairman of SEBRAE/RS, Vitor Augusto Koch.
The aisles of the Grape Fest Trade Fair and Event Center in Caxias do Sul received thousands of visitors from all over Brazil and other countries. “This is a fully consolidated fair, which meets exhibitor needs at the most important level: enabling negotiation between buyers and sellers, in a totally business-focused environment. Out of every four contacts made by exhibitors, one has great potential to reach fruition as a deal,” affirms the director of Hannover Fairs Sulamérica, Constantino Bäumle.
Marcelo Ribas, Director of Administration and Finance for SEBRAE/RS, emphasizes the satisfaction of watching the greatness of Mercopar as a trade fair featuring the might of Brazilian industry. “The quality of its participating exhibitors and their ability to boldly innovate and demonstrate their productive potential make it the top subcontracting and industrial innovation event in Latin America,” he adds.
According to the exhibitor satisfaction survey, 54% attended the fair in order to expand their customer base, and 93% considered the event good or great for that purpose. As for interest in being a part of the next run, over 90% of exhibitors confirmed that they intend to be at Mercopar 2014. Another key index shows 83% of respondents affirming that the event met or surpassed their expectations.
VISITATION – There were more than 27 thousand visitors during the first three days of Mercopar. On Thursday the 3rd, a record number of visitors for a single day was registered, with 13,254 attendees. The final total should reach the same number as last year, when around 35 thousand visitors passed through the Grape Fest Trade Fair and Event Center.
The event gathered Brazilian and international exhibitors from Germany, Argentina, Canada, China, the Netherlands, Italy, Romania and Turkey. Mercopar is organized by the Micro and Small Business Support Service in Rio Grande do Sul (SEBRAE/RS – Serviço de Apoio às Micro e Pequenas Empresas do Rio Grande do Sul), and by Hannover Fairs Sulamérica, which is a member of the Deutsche Messe AG Group.
